The Hoppy Hound treats are handmade using spent grains from craft breweries. The grains (think barley, wheat, rye, and oats) are "mashed" in hot water to extract the sugars and flavors and then removed from the brewing process. The liquid (wort) becomes beer, and the grains are upcycled and baked into a tasty (and all-natural) treat that you can feel good about sharing with your best friend!
Spent grains are about 20% protein and 70% fiber and are a good source of iron, magnesium, selenium and phosphorus, making them an ideal part of a healthy dog treat that provides energy, aids in digestion, and helps keep those doggie teefs clean!
